Donations

The Cardinal Szoka Library always welcomes book and media donations.  Donations are evaluated by the Library Director, and those items appropriate for the collection are retained for processing.  Those donations not acquisitioned into the collection are stored as duplicates, or offered to other seminaries.

Some donations are placed on the sale shelf to assist students in developing their personal libraries.

The Library cannot offer appraisal of donations.  However, we will be happy to offer a letter on the size and condition of the donation, which can be used for tax purposes.

The Seminary recognizes the need for careful stewardship of materials offered to the Cardinal Szoka Library.  The Library currently acts as a repository for materials on Roman Catholic Church history in Michigan.  We also collect materials in a variety of areas including Scripture, Church History, Religious Education, Spirituality, Systematics, Patristics, Philosophy, and the Liberal Arts.

We are pleased and grateful for donations from friends and patrons and promise our full and careful consideration of all materials offered to us.

For more information on donating please contact the Library. A printed copy of the policy on donations is available.
